前天在万分的纠结中，儿子表态不想那么快出去，LD表态不知道（是他使用最多的表态），我其实很想试试，反正李教授说过不成功不收费，成功是指拿到签证。
还是征求一下陈勇教授的意见，很快得到回复：
Too bad. If a school is easy to get in, most likely it is not very good. Most good schools in the US have some requirements. I would not trust a school that takes anyone who can pay, but with no academic requirements.
是啊，欲速则不达，这么大的事本该不急不躁，最后大家一致同意按原计划前进，儿子按部就班好好学英语，争取考出个正式的TOEFL成绩，上海学习回来再去考次SLEP，拿两个成绩再去努力一下别的学校。
听取顾问的意见，从词汇和听力两个方面加强儿子的英语，买了《书虫》系列一、二、三级，让儿子每天抽一小时看一段。另外下载了美国糖果剧《老友记》，让儿子每天看一小时以提高听力。这样学英语时间总算与玩电脑时间扯平了。
我则继续寻找合适的学校，发咨询邮件，并把问题细化到索要学校要求的TOEFL及SLEP的分数水平。今天收到三所学校的回复。
康州的Putnam Science Academy，内容如下：
1) Yes it is possible for him to come to our Academy as a Grade 11 students. How is his English does he speak the language or does he need ESL?
2) TOEFL his score should be 55 or over. Has he taken any of the SSAT or SLEP?
3) We do not have any Chinese students but we do have Vietnam students.
阿肯色州的Subiaco Academy，内容如下：
Thank you for your interest in Subiaco Academy. It could be that your son will make a great “SubiMan”.
Subiaco Academy is a day and boarding, college preparatory school for young men in grades 8 through 12. Our beautiful campus is located in the Arkansas River valley between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains. Our graduates achieve a 100% college acceptance rate and we are on

2）We prefer SLEP scores but will accept any of the three. We are looking for a SLEP scaled score of, at least, about 43 which puts the student the mid 50% range.

俄亥俄州的Olney Friends School，内容如下：
Thank you for your interest in Olney Friends School. We do consider January admissions for students who are proficient in English. In order to consider Rui for January, a SLEP or TOEFL test and Skype interview are required. We do not have strict numerical cut-offs, as we evaluate the entire application to see if the school is a good fit for each student.

经过与这些学校的沟通，基本了解到TOEFL要达到60分，SLEP要达到45分，才有把握申请上学校。TOEFL如何评分我不太清楚，SLEP我分析了，要想多拿到6分，假如分摊在两大项上，即听力多得3分需要多做对5-6题，阅读要多得3分需多对8-10题，儿子要加油呀！
另外每个学校都要求进行Skype面试，儿子一和外国人说话就心慌得说不出话来，真不知道这关如何过。看样子到时候要请出Chris来帮帮忙。
这些天忙这些破事都不是我自己了，完全丢掉了自己的生活，而LD该怎么滋润还怎么滋润，每天睡睡懒觉、会会朋友、喝个小酒、抽个小烟、打打高尔夫，好象儿子是我一个人的，这个世界啊什么时候当爹的能和当妈的一样关心儿子呢？
儿子都说了，如果他将来事业有成，背后一定是有一位多事的老女人，那就是老妈。
